Singer Cho Young-nam recounted an incident that occurred during his life in the United States with his former wife, actress Yoon Yeo-jeong.
On the 26th, MBN's variety program 'Soopulisho Dongchimi' aired a special Chuseok episode titled 'Chuseok: I Live Alone'.
That day, Cho Young-nam expressed concern for 55-year-old actor Kim Seung-soo, who remains single during the Chuseok holiday. He advised Kim to try dating more often and stated that he himself has never stopped dating up until now.
Cho Young-nam said, "All women are girlfriends. But girlfriends always insert the letter 'sa' in the middle. They call them 'yeosa-chin.' That doesn't exist in my dictionary." He added, "The reason I earn money is all for my girlfriends," drawing laughter from the audience.
Later, Cho Young-nam, who said he can never forget his days living in the United States during holidays, began by saying, "I have the funniest story of my life."
Cho Young-nam shared, "When we lived in America, my son and a friend's son were about the same age. The mother of that family was singer Lima Kim," and then described an incident that happened while the children were fishing.
He explained that a fishing hook thrown by Lima Kim's son got stuck in her nose, and after cutting the fishing line, they headed to the hospital.
Cho Young-nam recalled how Lima Kim's husband, worried about his wife falling ill, carefully walked holding a fishing rod, followed by the accident-prone Lima Kim and her son who seemed to have committed a grave crime with his head bowed. He said he struggled to hold back laughter mixed with worry as they walked in a line.
After arriving safely at the hospital, Cho Young-nam burst into laughter only then. He remarked, "I rolled around laughing with my former lover. It hurt my stomach because I laughed so much," drawing attention.
When Cho Young-nam then asked, "Shall I tell another funny story?" co-host Lee Kyung-sil urgently told him, "Don't do it," adding to the laughter.
Cho Young-nam married Yoon Yeo-jeong in 1971 and lived in the United States with her. The couple had two sons but divorced in 1987.
