Comedian Hwang Je-seong (44) shed tears as he recalled the time of his father's "margin investing (investing with debt) controversy."
On the episode of MBN's "Kim Joo-ha's Day and Night" broadcast on the 3rd, Kim Jun-hyun, Hwang Je-seong, and Gimhae-jun from "Delicious Guys" appeared.
During the broadcast, Hwang Je-seong opened up by saying, "There was quite a bit of debt at home," and added, "I originally had no intention of becoming a comedian, but I ended up doing it because of money."
He recalled the situation, stating, "There was a day when my mental state completely broke down due to family issues. It just happened to be the recording day for 'Comedy Big League.' A creditor came holding a picket sign in front of the recording studio."
He continued, "I couldn't even memorize my lines, and it was an experience I had never gone through before, so it was incredibly difficult. Even while standing still, I felt restless inside." He then said, "As my turn approached, Se-yoon came to me before my entrance and said, 'It is an honor that we can do comedy in the same era.'" As he spoke, tears welled up in his eyes.
Moon Se-yoon also recalled the incident. He said, "I could see that Je-seong had become despondent. It felt a bit awkward to just say 'fighting,' so I wanted to give him serious encouragement." He added, "After saying those words, I went out on stage first, and it turned out he came back from the stage crying. That day, he performed exceptionally well without showing any signs of distress."
Hwang Je-seong expressed his gratitude by saying, "I think that someone with no blood relation offering such words is what a successful life looks like. I feel like I am blessed with good fortune."
