Cooking researcher Lee Hye-jung opened up about a matter that had left her feeling disappointed with her husband, Ko Min-hwan, an obstetrician and gynecologist.
The MBN variety show 'Sokpuri Show Dongchimi,' which aired on the 10th, featured discussions on the theme of "How to fix what remains."
On the broadcast that day, Lee Hye-jung confessed about her husband Ko Min-hwan, saying, "Even though he is my husband, I have lived for 50 years with the thought that he only takes good care of others, excluding me."
In response, her husband Ko Min-hwan said, "I cannot understand why you have lived with such a mindset for 50 years," and countered by stating, "You have a tendency to try to fit your husband into your subjective framework."
He continued, "When I expressed my dissatisfaction in the early days of our marriage, I was incredibly shocked. If we had not registered our marriage, I think I would have given up," which angered Lee Hye-jung.

Lee Hye-jung said that while her husband, an obstetrician and gynecologist known for being kind to his patients, was actually cold toward her when she experienced bleeding symptoms during pregnancy.
She stated, "My husband told me (gruffly), 'Don't move, just lie still.' I felt disappointed because I wondered why he would speak to me that way. When I told my father, he said, 'Come to the hospital,' but I could not go. My father always looked after me and was kinder than my husband."
Lee Hye-jung also said that even when she was hospitalized at the hospital where her husband worked for childbirth, he did not properly take care of her.
She confessed, "Because he was worried I might shout or make a scene, and since his junior colleagues were at the hospital, he told me, 'Don't make a fuss.' He was anxious that it would become known that his wife was being overly dramatic."
She mentioned giving birth to her child at 12:00 p.m., stating, "Around 11:00 a.m., my husband suddenly said, 'I'm going to eat some food and come back,' and left. I had not been able to eat since the previous day, yet he said he was going to have a meal. He came back around 11:30 a.m., complaining of a toothache."
She continued, "When the baby was born and started crying, he said, 'You gave birth to a son, not bad,' which was shocking."
She added, "My father patted my head and said, 'Well done, you worked hard,' but my husband went off to see other patients and did not even look at me. My husband is an obstetrician, yet he does not comfort the mother; I was left alone while my father-in-law was there, and my mother-in-law said, 'He did not do that when my son was born either.'"

Lee Hye-jung revealed that although her mother, who welcomed the marriage into a medical family, had prepared an enormous dowry, she still experienced hardships in her married life. She stated, "My mother thought she should send me off well since I was her only daughter, and spent money openly," revealing that she even provided land as part of the dowry.
In addition to a domestic car, a 12-foot abalone farming facility, a color television, and a vacuum cleaner, she also prepared silver spoons and silver bowls for the in-laws, hanbok with gold buttons, and three mink coats. It was reported that clothes for the staff of the hospital operated by her husband's family were also included in the dowry.
Lee Hye-jung said, "If my mother had just given me that money in cash, wouldn't I have owned a few pyeong of land in Gangnam?" and confessed, "I could not get a divorce because it was a waste. I was reluctant to lose the principal."

She confessed, "My mother miscalculated because the in-laws were all given silver spoons, but I was not. When a meal was served, everyone had silver spoons and silver bowls, but only I had a stainless steel bowl and spoon."
She further revealed that she felt left out whenever three obstetricians and her sister-in-law, a plastic surgeon, gathered to discuss medical topics. She expressed her distress by saying, "At first, because I was naive, if I asked, 'Mother-in-law, what does that mean?' she would say, 'You don't even know that?'"
