Kenta, a former member of the group JBJ, revealed his past struggles with financial hardship after being burdened by a debt of 400 million won following his idol career.
On the 24th, a video titled "Kenta's Korean Home Revealed" was posted on the YouTube channel 'ICU'.
In the video, Kenta disclosed that he incurred debt when he left his agency while active as an idol. Kenta stated, "I ended up with a debt of 400 million won after leaving my company during my time as an idol," adding, "Because this debt exists, I carry a sense of weight and responsibility knowing that 'I have to pay this off.'"

He confessed that the debt had led to financial difficulties. Kenta recalled, "When the debt arose, my accounts were seized and suddenly disappeared, leaving me with only a single 1,000-won bill," and said, "I was at a point where I didn't know how to secure food for the next day. I was just busy surviving day by day." He continued, "At that time, older friends around me sent me things like rice," expressing gratitude to those who helped him.
He also revealed that he had once considered quitting his idol career. Kenta said, "I felt that being an idol wasn't right for me, and I experienced burnout, losing my goal in life for the first time." However, he recently set a new goal, with paying off his debt being the top priority. He added, "There is still a lot of debt remaining."
He described the help he received as a "debt of life." Kenta said, "I believe that receiving help from someone is also a form of debt," and stated, "Living to repay that grace is also a good way to live. I am grateful for this debt too. It has become the driving force of my life. It is good that my life is not smooth," revealing a positive mindset.
Kenta gained recognition by appearing on Mnet's survival program "Produce 101 Season 2" in 2017 and debuted as a member of the project group JBJ that same year. Since then, he has continued his activities with JBJ95 and as a solo artist.
