An event will be held to simultaneously showcase the 'energy response strategies for the AI (artificial intelligence) era' of national representative large corporations and organizations, as well as the Army's 'energy security strategy'.
Organized jointly by MoneyToday and COEX, and hosted by the National Assembly Hydrogen Economy Forum, 'Smart Energy Plus (SMART ENERGY PLUS·SEP) 2026' will take place from the 28th to 30 at COEX Hall B in Seoul Samsung-dong. This event will focus on two main themes: 'Energy Daejeon in the AI Era' and 'Energy Security Amid Rapidly Changing International Circumstances'.
As of the early registration deadline on the 28th, companies including LG, HD Hyundai, Doosan, and Hyundai Rotem have confirmed they will set up booths to present AI-era customized energy solutions. Notably, this year, the Army will showcase next-generation military energy policies, including a pilot project for Gi Sul-gwa (SVP) microgrids. Additionally, visitors can expect to see visions of future mobility (transportation) envisioned by Hyundai Motor, BMW, and Polestar.
Booths are also planned by Seoul Metropolitan Government, the Korea Institute of Construction Technology, the Korea Machinery Research Institute, the Korea Energy Technology Research Institute, the Korea Atomic Energy Research Institute, the Korea Electronics and Telecommunications Research Institute, the Korea Research Institute of Standards and Science, the Credit Guarantee Fund for Small and Medium Enterprises, and the Korea Testing and Research Institute for Chemicals. The conference held alongside the exhibition is also drawing attention. Leading with microgrid technology, the Army will host a forum deeply addressing 'energy security'. Additionally, senior executives from national representative companies such as Samsung Electronics, Hyundai Motor, SK Hynix, LG, and POSCO who are in charge of AI and energy will take the stage to introduce global trends. The event will also include sessions featuring insights from key figures from the three major battery companies—LG Energy Solution, Samsung SDI, and SK On—as well as representatives from power grid companies including OCI Power, HD Hyundai Electric, LS, and Bright Energy Partners.
'SEP 2026' is structured as a B2B (business-to-business) exhibition enabling buyer matching and substantive consultations. It is expected to serve as a platform for exchange that promotes diverse cooperation opportunities within the domestic industrial sector, including technology partnerships, product supply, and investment attraction. Side events will include trend seminars, carbon neutrality experience programs, the K-tech Startup King of Kings competition, and a special zone for AI data centers.
Recognized as Korea's largest private-led energy and mobility technology Daejeon, this exhibition first launched in 2019 under the name 'Korea Hydrogen Expo'. It was renamed 'Green Business Week (GBW)' in 2022, and since last year has established itself as an exhibition and conference encompassing energy and mobility-related technologies under the 'SEP' brand.
