T'way Airlines will begin operating under the name 'Trinity Airways' starting next month on the 10th.
According to the aviation industry on the 31st, T'way Airlines confirmed September 10 this year as the date for its brand transition and launch of operations under Trinity Airways. This comes four months after receiving license change approval from the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport in May to change its name to Trinity Airways.
As a result, all domestic and international flights operated by T'way Airlines will be run under the Trinity Airways brand. The names displayed at key customer touchpoints, including the website, mobile app, and airport check-in counters, will also change to Trinity Airways. New uniforms will also be fully implemented starting on the same day.
Prior to the brand transition, the name used in actual flight operations will also change. T'way Airlines plans to change its call sign used in global air traffic control radio communications from the current 'TEEWAY (T'way)' to 'SONOROUS' starting next month on the 4th.
A call sign is a designation used by air traffic controllers and pilots to distinguish airlines during radio communication. Unlike flight numbers seen by passengers on tickets or airport display boards, it is utilized in actual aircraft operations. However, the International Air Transport Association (IATA) code 'TW' attached to flight numbers and the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) code 'TWB' used in flight planning and control systems will remain unchanged.
The exterior of the aircraft will also be changed sequentially. The first new aircraft (B737-8) painted with the Trinity Airways livery from the manufacturing stage arrived at Gimpo International Airport on the 29th. T'way Airlines plans to apply the new livery to its existing fleet in accordance with maintenance schedules.
Earlier this March, T'way Airlines changed its corporate name to Trinity Airways and updated its stock market ticker symbol through an ordinary general meeting of shareholders. On the 6th, it held a brand launch event to unveil new uniforms and business strategies, accelerating its brand transition efforts.
Customers who have already purchased tickets can use their scheduled flights without any additional procedures. The locations of airport check-in terminals and counters will remain the same as before.
Along with the brand transition, Trinity Airways will fully implement its 'Selective Service Carrier (SSC)' strategy, which expands one step beyond traditional low-cost carriers (LCCs). This business model selectively enhances services that are highly preferred based on route characteristics and travel purposes, rather than providing identical services to all customers.
On short-haul routes, it will maintain reasonable fares and operational efficiency, while on long-haul routes, it will expand premium check-in counters, in-flight meals, and in-flight entertainment. It also plans to introduce airport lounge operations and a mileage program in the future. Additionally, it aims to launch products that integrate travel and stay by linking hotels and resorts owned by Sonority Group with its flight routes.
Fleet expansion will continue as well. By the end of this year, it plans to add A330-900NEO medium-to-large aircraft and additional B737-8s to strengthen competitiveness on both long-haul and short-haul routes.
A T'way Airlines official stated, "We are prioritizing a stable transition to ensure no changes to existing reservations and flight usage," adding, "Under the new name Trinity Airways, we will leap forward as a global airline by offering differentiated services that combine aviation with hospitality."
