POSCODX, Training Disabled YouTube Creators… Launches 'Dream Green' Contest

POSCODX announced on the 10th that it is operating the "Dream Green" project to support education and content creation for disabled YouTube creators.

"Dream Green" is a social contribution project utilizing funds from the POSCO1% Sharing Foundation, established through donations from POSCO Group employees and company matching grants. POSCODX is advancing this initiative in collaboration with POSCO and the Korea Federation of Physically Disabled Persons.

Since 2019, POSCODX has annually held a contest where disabled individuals can learn YouTube content planning, filming, and editing skills, then showcase their self-produced works.

This year marks the eighth edition of the contest, open to all disabled persons. Teams of up to four members may include both disabled and non-disabled participants. Contest categories focus on improving disability awareness, environmental protection, and safety in daily life. Reflecting heightened public interest in safety across society, a new safety category was added this year, with special awards given for content utilizing generative AI.

Submissions are accepted until the 31st. Winning works will receive ministerial awards from the Ministry of Science and ICT, Ministry of Health and Welfare, Ministry of Environment, and Ministry of the Interior and Safety, along with POSCODX President Awards and the National Park Service Lee (President) Award. The award ceremony is scheduled for early November.

Since May, POSCODX has also conducted online video production training for approximately 390 disabled individuals. In welfare centers and special schools in Pohang, Gwangyang, Seoul, and Yongin, filming studios have been established to provide on-site education using equipment and props.

In June, a follow-up growth program was held at Woljeongsa Temple within Odaesan National Park for outstanding participants from past contests, offering training to enhance content creation capabilities.

Last year's contest received 369 submissions. A video by Kim Se-jin, documenting her journey as a fashion model using prosthetic legs after losing both legs, won the Ministry of Health and Welfare Minister Award.

Detailed information about the contest is available on the POSCODX website.
