Pearl Abyss achieved remarkable results driven by the global success of its new title "Red Desert." The company is preparing follow-up measures including the release of DLC and platform expansion.
On the 11th, Pearl Abyss announced that its consolidated revenue for the second quarter reached 192.6 billion won, with operating profit at 67.6 billion won. These figures represent increases of 247.7% and 7,411.1%, respectively, compared to the same period last year. Net income turned profitable at 70.9 billion won, marking a turnaround from the previous year's loss.
Overseas sales accounted for 91% of total revenue in the second quarter, with North America and Europe comprising 75%. By IP (intellectual property), "Red Desert" generated 136.1 billion won in revenue, while "Black Desert" contributed 55 billion won.
Released in March, "Red Desert" has gained popularity by continuously incorporating user feedback through ongoing updates. Pearl Abyss is currently reviewing content quality with the goal of releasing downloadable expansion packs (DLC) before year-end. Optimization work for the Nintendo Switch 2 version is underway, targeting a release in the first half of next year, and discount strategies are also being planned.
To commemorate the 10th anniversary of "Black Desert" PC's service in North America and Europe, the company held the "2026 Black Desert Heidelberg Festival" event in the United States, which received a positive response. Pearl Abyss unveiled new content including the new class "Agent," the expansion of the Edania region to Part 2, and updates to graphics technology.
A Pearl Abyss representative stated, "We will continue to launch new content and improve services throughout the second half of the year, further expanding our engagement with global users."
