It has been confirmed that Naver (NAVER) has joined the Federation of Korean Industries (FKI).
According to the IT industry on the 12th, Naver was approved as a member of FKI last August and officially became a member after passing through the FKI board meeting and general assembly in February.
Naver also joined The Korea Economic Daily-Hankyung Association (The Korea Economic Daily (Hankyung) Assoc.) last year. Naver's successive membership in both organizations is interpreted as an effort to expand policy cooperation with the broader business community in response to the AI era.
Some analyses suggest this move is also related to labor union issues. On this day, the Naver union held a seminar at the National Assembly and argued for the necessity of integrated collective bargaining between the headquarters and its subsidiaries.
FKI has identified policy responses to the revised Labor Union Act and improvements in labor-related legislation as key initiatives for this year. The organization plans to support collective bargaining for member companies while presenting the business community's views on major labor issues such as raising the retirement age, working hour systems, and performance-based wage structures focused on jobs and results.
