As the K-Shoot project roadmap is set to be released this September, the government is gathering expert opinions to establish a roadmap for the 'AI Humanoid' sector.
The Ministry of Science and ICT announced on the 25th that it will hold the 'K-Shoot Humanoid Expert Meeting' at KIST (Korea Institute of Science and Technology) in Seongbuk-gu, Seoul.
The goal is to secure a world-class 'national representative humanoid' platform within three years by pooling industry-academia-research capabilities from core technology development, including AI models and key components, through demonstration and Yangsan. The mission general manager is PD Yeo Jun-gu.
PD Yeo plans to present the draft roadmap for the Humanoid mission today and gather opinions from relevant industry, academia, and research officials. PD Yeo emphasized, "Physical intelligence that makes its own judgments and moves in the physical world will be the new wave after AI," adding, "Humanoids are the core platform."
Kim Sung-soo, Director of the R&D Policy Office at the Ministry of Science and ICT, stated, "We will closely communicate with on-site experts such as researchers and companies to complete an executable roadmap and pool national capabilities so that our companies and research teams can compete on the global stage."
The K-Shoot roadmap is expected to be finalized at the upcoming ScienceGi Sul-gwan-gye (Minister)Conference next month.
