TVING will extend the compensation period for its cybersecurity incident by one month.
On the 29th, TVING announced through its website and mobile app that it would extend the application deadline by one month for members who had not yet applied for compensation related to the cybersecurity incident.
Among the members notified as being affected by the incident, those who did not complete their compensation applications by September 30 will be able to apply from October 6 until 11:59 p.m. on October 30.
Compensation applications can be made by logging into TVING and completing identity verification.
For members who apply in October, the disbursement of compensation will begin sequentially at 10 a.m. on November 4.
The compensation for additional applicants includes △ one year of free enrollment in DB Insurance's Hacking and Phishing Peace-of-Mind Insurance △ premium viewing features △ 50 TVING points △ and an entertainment coupon.
The Hacking and Phishing Peace-of-Mind Insurance provides coverage of up to 3 million won and can be used for one year, from November 4 this year until November 3 next year. The 50 TVING points are worth 5,000 won and can be used to pay for individually purchased content; additional applicants will have a usage period from November 4 until January 31 next year.
For existing users, the premium viewing feature will be available for four months, from October 6 until January 31 next year, allowing simultaneous viewing on up to four devices. This does not include Apple TV content.
In addition, a one-month subscription to Wavve's Ad-Standard plan (worth 5,000 won) will also be provided. The CGV Combo 3-type discount coupon for 5,000 won, which had previously been offered as an alternative to the Wavve subscription, cannot be selected during this extended application period.
