Hanwha Semitech said Tuesday that it will participate in 'NEPCON Asia 2026,' held from Oct. 27 to 29 at the Shenzhen International Convention Center in China.
NEPCON Asia is a leading surface mount technology (SMT) exhibition in Asia, attracting approximately 600 global manufacturers and around 70,000 visitors. This year's event is being held in Shenzhen, China, a major hub for the global information technology (IT) industry.
China is the world's largest SMT market, producing a wide range of electronic products including smartphones, PCs, servers, and automotive electronics. With numerous large-scale electronics manufacturing services (EMS) companies and component manufacturers based there, it is also a key target region for global chip mounter companies.
The chip mounters that Hanwha Semitech focuses on are equipment designed to quickly and precisely mount various components onto printed circuit boards (PCBs). As electronic products become smaller and higher-performing, the number of components on boards has increased while their size has decreased, making production speed and mounting precision core factors in determining equipment competitiveness.
At this exhibition, the high-speed chip mounter 'HM520' and the 'HM520W,' designed for large and heavy boards, will be configured as a single production line. This approach links the HM520, which excels in rapid component mounting, with the HM520W, capable of handling large boards, to respond to diverse production demands.
Based on this, Hanwha Semitech plans to actively respond to demand in the artificial intelligence (AI) server, network equipment, and automotive electronics markets. The use of high-performance and large boards is increasing for these products, raising requirements for chip mounter processing speed and precision.
The new product 'DECAN Plus' will also be unveiled for the first time in China. This product improves speed and precision compared to the existing Decan, targeting replacement demand for aging local equipment. The software 'T-Solution,' which manages production plans, program and material management, and production status, will also be demonstrated on-site.
A Hanwha Semitech official stated, "We will steadily expand our market share in the Greater China region with customer-tailored solutions."
