SK hynix has implemented executive-level personnel changes to respond to local Big Tech customers in the United States and expand its global business. The company established a new Americas headquarters organization in the U.S., appointing Ahn Hyun, president of the Development Division, as its head, while also replacing the heads of its development and management organizations.
SK hynix said Friday that it has appointed President Ahn Hyun as President of the Americas headquarters, President Cha Sun-yong, head of the Future Technology Research Institute, as President of the Development Division, and President Yoon Pung-young, in charge of SK's S.P.E.X. (Strategic Planning & Execution) Council, as President of the Corporate Center. The personnel changes take effect from November 1.
Ahn will oversee the newly established Americas headquarters, a president-level organization based in the United States, building a response system centered on Big Tech customers and leading the strengthening of technological leadership and R&D (Research and Development) capabilities. Ahn has led the development of AI (Artificial Intelligence) memory products such as HBM (High Bandwidth Memory) and SoCAM, while also gaining experience in business and strategy fields.
Cha will take charge of the Development Division while concurrently serving as head of the Future Technology Research Institute. Based on his expertise in advanced semiconductor technology, he plans to strengthen the linkage between future technology and product development.
Yoon will oversee the Corporate Center, driving global business expansion and the discovery of new growth engines. He has gained experience in strategy, investment, business development, and AX (Artificial Intelligence Transformation) at SK Group, and has been leading the formulation and execution of medium- to long-term strategies as head of SK hynix's Global Growth TF (Task Force) since July this year.
