Former national team tennis player Lee Hyung-taik revealed the full story behind a past anecdote linking him to Kim Hye-soo. He explained that although he had previously named Kim as his ideal type and attempted to film a scene where he would present her with a bouquet, cooperation fell through, and the broadcast edited it in a way that made it seem as though he was rejected.
On Wednesday, the 981st episode of MBC's 'Radio Star' aired, featuring Lee showcasing his wit.
Jang Do-yeon started the conversation by telling Lee, "It is said that Prince of Tennis Lee Hyung-taik was once Kim Hye-soo's man."
She then added, "Is it really that Kim Hye-soo we know?" sparking curiosity among the viewers.
The MCs reacted with excitement, saying things like "That can't be true," "How did this story get twisted?" and "Let's see what happens."
Flustered, Lee explained the situation at the time.
Le stated, "In 2003, after winning a championship match, scandals between athletes and celebrities were all the rage. Whenever asked about my ideal type, I always said Kim Hye-soo."
At that time, Kim was filming the drama 'Jang Hee-bin'.
Lee explained, "The PD requested it, so they planned a shoot where I would deliver a bouquet to Ms. Kim Hye-soo and offer my support."
In reality, Lee did visit the set of 'Jang Hee-bin', but the meeting never took place as planned.
Lee expressed regret, saying, "I went to film it, but cooperation was not granted."
The problem arose with the editing afterward.
Lee revealed, "When I saw it later, it was edited to look like I went to meet her but was rejected and left." This comment drew laughter from the audience.
