Trot singer Sukhaeng, 47, lost a lawsuit filed by the mistress for damages.
According to StarNews on Thursday, the Suwon District Court Seongnam Branch ruled in favor of the plaintiff in part in the first trial of a damages claim lawsuit filed by Ms. A against Sukhaeng.
Previously, Sukhaeng was engulfed in an adultery controversy last December.
Ms. A, a housewife in her 40s with two children, revealed through JTBC's "Event Chief" that her husband had left home to cohabit with a trot singer due to an affair. The broadcast also released videos showing a woman believed to be Sukhaeng embracing and kissing Ms. A's husband.
At the time, when Sukhaeng's name was not disclosed, she explained to "Event Chief" that she began dating after believing her husband had said their marital relationship had essentially collapsed and only legal formalities remained, and that property division and damages settlement were already complete.
As the controversy grew, Sukhaeng posted on Instagram, "I sincerely apologize for causing concern due to personal matters," and withdrew from MBN's "Active King of Singers 3" while appearing on the show.
Meanwhile, Sukhaeng gained recognition by finishing sixth in the final round of TV Chosun's "Miss Trot 1" in 2019. She has since appeared on "Modern Family," "Dining Out Day 2," and "Trot Magic Wandering Troupe."
