Korean Air has been named No. 1 in the airline category for the fifth consecutive year in the Korea Service Quality Index (KS-SQI) evaluation conducted by the Korea Standards Association.
The company said Wednesday that it was selected as the top airline at the "2026 Korea Service Quality Index Certification Ceremony" held at Signiel Seoul in Songpa-gu, Seoul.
KS-SQI is a service quality evaluation index jointly developed by the Korea Standards Association and the Seoul National University Business School in 2000. It surveys customer satisfaction among users of products or services from domestic service companies and publishes the results annually.
Korean Air received high praise for its large-scale service investments and ongoing efforts to improve customer convenience. In particular, attention was drawn to its simultaneous pursuit of service quality enhancement, system integration, and organizational culture fusion ahead of the launch of an integrated airline in December.
A representative example is the Starlink-based in-flight Wi-Fi introduced last September. Korean Air became the first full-service carrier (FSC) in East Asia to adopt the service and offers it free of charge across all seat classes.
The company has also upgraded its airport lounge facilities. Following the opening of a next-generation flagship lounge at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) in the United States last March, it completed renovations of the First Class Lounge and Prestige West Lounge at Incheon International Airport in April.
Efforts to expand services for passenger convenience have also been underway. Last June, Korean Air expanded the routes covered by its automatic baggage transfer service (SBT) with Delta Air Lines, simplifying the process of re-checking baggage at U.S. airports. The service is currently available on five North American routes: Incheon-Atlanta, Seattle, Los Angeles, Minneapolis, and Detroit.
During the winter schedule period, the company is also strengthening route competitiveness in line with customer demand by operating flights to Melbourne, Australia, and Hiroshima, Japan.
A Korean Air official said, "We believe our efforts thus far have been officially recognized. We will do our utmost to deliver a safe flight experience and continuous service improvements that move customers' hearts."
