On the 29th, POSCODX held a media briefing at Lotte Hotel Seoul and announced its business strategy to leap into an "AI-native company" with two pillars: "Physical AI" for industrial sites and "Agentic AI" for office work.
POSCODX is focusing on spreading Physical AI to realize intelligent factories where three entities—people, AI, and site equipment—collaborate organically. The company explained that it has established a system in which AI operates robots and equipment while collaborating with humans at the site control room by converting tacit knowledge held by highly skilled operators into core data for Physical AI.
POSCODX is also actively promoting the application of industrial robots to high-intensity and high-risk sites. It provides robot automation services ranging from consulting, design, construction, and operation for robot application, and has a strength in securing a platform with POSCO for operating heterogeneous robots to support optimal robot operations. The company is also advancing the development of VLA (Vision Language Action) models applied to mobile robots to design optimal robot systems based on simulations and to enhance robot locomotion and manipulation (sophisticated object handling).
On this day, POSCODX introduced cases where robots perform high-intensity and high-risk tasks, such as a robot for removing impurities generated in the melting furnace of the zinc galvanizing process at a steel mill, a band cutter robot for the cold rolling process, and AGVs (Automated Guided Vehicles) that automatically transport 65-ton steel products. In addition, it introduced the automation of raw material sampling and logistics tasks using robots targeting production plants for eco-friendly materials and vehicle parts.
To realize Agentic AI for office and management environments, POSCODX has independently developed a platform called "Agenti" that manages the entire lifecycle of AI agents—from hiring to evaluation, development, promotion, and retirement—similar to human employees. The company conducts AX consulting to analyze corporate business flows and design business processes where humans and AI agents share roles. Based on this, Agenti generates customized agents or reuses existing agents for development. A key advantage is that the entire process from design to development is carried out in Agenti according to standardized methodologies, enabling rapid construction of AI agents.
At the event, cases of utilizing AI agents in finance, HR, labor, and business management tasks were introduced. In the case of the monthly recurring "pre-closing risk check" task, the agent automatically scans all account items, identifies abnormal accounts and missing vouchers, and even writes risk reports, reducing the work time that previously took about three hours to around one minute. POSCODX expects that if AI agents are fully applied to the entire accounting closing process, productivity will improve by at least 30% compared to before. Currently, POSCODX is developing and operating over 200 AI agents for POSCO group companies, plans to establish and spread a group-standard model, and intends to supply the validated platform to external markets as well.
