Jung Shin-ah, CEO of Kakao, unveiled a blueprint to leverage KakaoTalk, which boasts 49 million users, as a core touchpoint for the government's 'All People's AI' project. The plan envisions realizing a 'One Person N-Agent,' where multiple AIs collaborate to handle tasks that are genuinely needed for an individual.
Jung Shin-ah stated at the Ministry of Science and ICT's 'All People's AI' project business roundtable held on the 4th at the Korea Press Center in Jung-gu, Seoul: "It is important not just for AI to provide answers, but to deliver experiences where it actually performs tasks needed by the individual."
He added, "Ultimately, what matters is how much we can bring technology into people's daily lives and create tangible changes in citizens' lives. We aim to ensure that citizens do not merely experience AI once, but that it gradually becomes embedded in each person's daily habits."
The core concept promoted by Kakao is 'Action-Oriented Agent AI.' When users describe tasks they need help with—such as health, finance, debt management, employment, or caregiving—specialized agents in each field divide and handle the work. This approach allows requests to flow directly into actual actions within a single conversation, eliminating the need to search for multiple services individually.
Jung Shin-ah emphasized, "Users will converse with their personal assistant, while behind the scenes, multiple specialized agents engage in discussions to make optimal decisions. We aim to expand from the government's proposed 'One Person One AI Agent' for all citizens to a 'One Person N-Agent,' where several specialized agents collaborate for each individual."
Kakao will also actively leverage its large user base on KakaoTalk. Jung Shin-ah stated, "Above all, we aim to lower the barrier for users. There is no need to install new services or relearn usage; users can immediately begin using familiar touchpoints with 49 million existing KakaoTalk users." For citizens unfamiliar with smartphones, plans are in place to enable AI access via LG Uplus's voice and communication channels through a single phone call.
The consortium will combine Kakao's agent AI and platform capabilities with LG Group's AI model technology and FuriusAI's AI semiconductor expertise. Specialized companies in public services, healthcare, finance, education, tax, employment, and caregiving, along with institutional investors, will be integrated as specialized agents. An ecosystem will also be built to allow external startup AI agents to interact directly with end users. The plan involves linking the agent marketplace promoted by the Ministry of Science and ICT with Kakao's platform to broaden user touchpoints for both specialized companies and startups.
Jung Shin-ah promised, "We hope that 'All People's AI' will serve as a catalyst not only for South Korea to develop its capability in creating advanced AI but also to become the country that uses AI most effectively worldwide. We commit to developing AI that is not merely for demonstration purposes, but for actual use—making it an essential, indispensable part of daily life that everyone needs and would find inconvenient without."
