LG CNS (LG Cee En Es) is partnering with global investment firm General Atlantic to pursue investments in enterprise software and AI companies.
On the 1st, LG CNS announced that it has signed a joint investment partnership agreement with General Atlantic and will pursue investments targeting global enterprise technology firms. Enterprise technology refers to enterprise software and AI that support core operations across all industrial sectors, including manufacturing, finance, logistics, and energy.
LG CNS’s strategy is to diversify its business portfolio by adding an enterprise software business, which generates stable and recurring revenue, to its existing IT services and AX (AI Transformation) businesses. The company also plans to secure a business foundation that can be expanded in the global market.
The agreement ceremony was held on the 24th of last month at General Atlantic’s headquarters in New York, local time. Attendees included Hyeon Shin-gyun, President of LG CNS, Martin Escobari, Co-President and Global Growth Assets Head of General Atlantic, and other key executives from both companies.
Under this agreement, LG CNS will work with General Atlantic to identify enterprise technology firms in the software and AI sectors and explore investment opportunities. The scale and terms of the investments by both parties are scheduled to be disclosed on a case-by-case basis once the target companies are finalized.
General Atlantic is a global investment firm with assets under management of $130 billion, approximately 175 trillion won, as of June 30, 2026. The company has more than 900 employees working in 20 countries worldwide, including its headquarters in New York, USA. It possesses over 45 years of accumulated experience in investing in technology companies, a global network, and capabilities in enhancing corporate value.
LG CNS will jointly identify high-quality enterprise technology firms by combining its domestic AX execution capabilities with General Atlantic’s global investment expertise. The company is also exploring ways to generate synergy between investments and business operations in the global market.
LG CNS plans to expand its enterprise software business through this investment. It aims to strengthen a stable revenue base, such as licenses and subscriptions, by securing software assets that hold intellectual property rights.
Additionally, LG CNS will establish a foundation for expanding businesses that link IT services, AX, and software in the global market by leveraging the secured software technology and customer base. The spread of agentic AI is also cited as a factor enhancing the strategic value of enterprise software. This is because for AI to understand corporate operations and make independent judgments and actions, it requires integration with enterprise software that manages core business processes and data while meeting security and regulatory requirements.
LG CNS plans to broaden customer touchpoints from the North American market to the Asia-Pacific region and seek new business opportunities by utilizing the secured enterprise software.
Hyeon Shin-gyun, President of LG CNS, stated, “As AI accelerates innovation in how companies work, proactively securing enterprise software that handles core business processes and data will be a crucial momentum for laying the foundation for future growth.” He added, “Together with General Atlantic, we will secure key business foundations that will determine future growth and combine them with LG CNS’s AX capabilities to create new customer value.”
