SK Shielders has earned the "Threat Detection and Response" security competency from Amazon Web Services.
SK Shielders announced on the 2nd that it has obtained the AWS "Threat Detection and Response" competency. This competency is a system that verifies the technical expertise and service capabilities of partners capable of building and operating threat detection and response systems in the AWS environment.
The AWS security competency evaluates the expertise, customer case studies, and other factors of partners providing security solutions and services in the AWS environment. Among these, the TDR competency targets areas such as security operations center management, SIEM, SOAR, XDR, EDR, and NDR for threat detection and response.
SK Shielders earned this competency after being recognized for its technical expertise, operational capabilities, and service delivery performance in threat detection and response within the AWS cloud environment. As of September this year, only 54 companies worldwide hold this competency, making SK Shielders the first in Korea to do so.
During the review process, SK Shielders submitted case studies demonstrating how it built customer threat detection and response systems using AWS security services such as Amazon GuardDuty, AWS WAF, AWS Network Firewall, and AWS Shield Advanced. The company also provides a service that analyzes and responds to security events collected in the AWS environment based on its proprietary threat intelligence and security operations management system.
Currently, SK Shielders is operating cloud-optimized security monitoring services by linking AWS native security services with its AI-based cybersecurity monitoring platform, "Secudium." It also provides consulting and specialized services covering the entire spectrum of cloud security, including regulatory compliance, perimeter security, development security, and data security.
Additionally, through its AWS-certified expert organization and incident response team, "Topcert," it supports everything from incident prevention to response and recovery.
SK Shielders plans to expand the industries in which it applies its services based on the expertise accumulated in the AWS cloud security field. The company aims to enhance its cloud threat detection and response services by integrating SK Shielders' AI technology with Amazon GuardDuty, providing support that extends from post-detection analysis and prioritization to automated response.
Choi Jae-ho, head of the Cyber Technology Center at SK Shielders, stated, "Earning this competency is an achievement that once again verifies SK Shielders' expertise in encompassing security monitoring and threat detection and response in the AWS cloud environment." He added, "Based on close cooperation with AWS, we will continue to expand cybersecurity services that support customers' digital transformation and proactively respond to evolving cyber threats."
Meanwhile, following its acquisition of the AWS MSSP competency last year, SK Shielders has now also secured the TDR competency. This has strengthened its position as an AWS security partner.
