T Factory (T Factory) Seongsu, a brand experience space operated by SK Telecom, is set to be transformed into an exhibition and experience space dedicated to Korea's unique cultural artifacts.
On the 12th, SKT announced that it will launch "K-Treasure Road," a public-private cooperative culture and tourism project, in collaboration with the National Museum of Korea under the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Korea Year of Visit Committee (a foundation), and the National Museum Cultural Foundation, using T Factory Seongsu as its base.
"K-Treasure Road" is a project that showcases exhibitions and experience content based on Korean cultural artifacts in connection with the "2027-2029 Year of Visiting Korea," linking these experiences to visits to regional museums and travel.
SKT and three institutional investors planned this project so that interest in cultural artifacts generated at T Factory Seongsu would lead visitors to desire to directly visit the museums and tourist sites in the regions where those artifacts are housed.
In particular, SKT plans to develop experience programs that allow people to approach cultural artifacts in a friendly manner by combining its own space and content planning capabilities with the cultural assets and expertise of public institutional investors.
Additionally, taking advantage of Seongsu's characteristics as a popular destination for young generations and foreign tourists, it will develop exhibition programs that connect museums and cultural artifacts with travel.
During this collaboration period, SKT will provide T Factory Seongsu as an exhibition experience space and jointly conduct exhibition planning and content production with the Korea Year of Visit Committee (a foundation). It plans to present experiential content where visitors can directly view and enjoy cultural artifacts and museum merchandise "MU:DS" by utilizing digital exhibition infrastructure within the space.
The Korea Year of Visit Committee (a foundation) will support collaboration among participating institutional investors, linkage with regional tourism, project planning, operation, and promotion. The National Museum of Korea will contribute to content cooperation through professional review, while the National Museum Cultural Foundation will be in charge of joint planning and production of MU:DS collaborative products, adding expertise to the project.
SKT and three institutional investors will unveil their first collaboration program in November and plan to gradually expand the project until 2027, the first year of the "2027-2029 Year of Visiting Korea."
Furthermore, it plans to establish a cultural tourism route connecting T Factory Seongsu with the National Museum of Korea and regional museums, and to contribute to revitalizing regional tourism by linking with local tourist sites and small businesses.
Yoon Jae-woong, Head of SKT's Product & Brand Division, said, "Through this collaboration, visitors to T Factory Seongsu will be able to newly discover the charm of our cultural artifacts and experience the joy of regional travel." He added, "We will continue to strive to make T Factory Seongsu a hub that provides customers with special experiences through various collaborations in the future."
