The fact that Park Chan-hong, the producer and father of YouTuber Park Wi, has lived like a father to several actresses is being re-examined. This comes after it was revealed that, following actress Yoon So-hee, Choi Kang-hee and Park Jin-hee also made past remarks about treating Producer Park like a father.
Recently, on the online community OnLINE and social networking services (SNS), a video of Choi Kang-hee appearing on Park Wi's YouTube channel "Wiwonder" in 2022 has been spreading.
In the video, Choi Kang-hee introduced her connection with Director Park, who guided her onto the path of acting, and shared an anecdote from when she lost her father.
Choi Kang-hee recalled the time, saying, "When our dad passed away, the director suddenly showed up at our house." She continued, "Usually, people comfort you by saying, 'It's okay, he must be in a good place,' right? But the director said, 'From now on, I am your father. Call me Dad.'"
Choi Kang-hee later revealed that she learned actress Park Jin-hee also called Director Park "Dad." She laughed and said, "I thought, he really is everyone's dad, like some kind of director or principal."
The video in question also included a scene where Park Jin-hee explained her father-daughter-like relationship with Director Park.
At the time, Choi Kang-hee introduced it as a memory of how Director Park's words had been comforting to her. However, amid the recent controversy surrounding Yoon So-hee, reactions questioning the father-daughter relationships that Director Park has formed with multiple actresses are emerging on OnLINE.
Some netizens reacted with comments such as "How many adopted daughters does he have exactly?", "Does he really need to make them call him Dad?", and "Why doesn't he have any adopted sons?"
The video that sparked this controversy began with "First Chuseok at my in-laws' house," which Park Wi released in September 2024. The video showed Yoon So-hee, who was staying at Park Wi's parents' home, greeting Park Wi and his wife Song Ji-eun while wearing pajamas.
Regarding the family's behavior in the video, some netizens raised suspicions that Song Ji-eun had been treated poorly. They pointed to the fact that only Song Ji-eun used different tableware at the dining table, as well as greetings among family members. Subsequently, attention spread to the "adopted daughter" relationship between Director Park and Yoon So-hee.
Yoon So-hee is known to have formed a connection with Director Park through her appearance in the tvN drama "Memory" in 2016.
