Actress Hwang Jung-eum revealed that she currently has no income and has even sold the gold she received at her two sons' first birthday parties.
In a video posted on YouTube on Wednesday, Hwang responded to questions about her income by saying, "It is the first time since I was 26 that I have not earned any money, which makes me feel very flustered and scared." She has been taking a break from acting activities since the drama "The Revival of Seven."
She continued, "I sold everything that could be turned into money. In fact, I even sold the gold I received at Wang-sik's and Kang-sik's first birthday parties," adding, "I also canceled my insurance policies, which yielded a significant amount of money. I am managing to get by with that."
When asked when she would want to go back in time if she could, she answered without hesitation, "2015, before I got married." She said, "It was such a shining period as an actress. There were so many people who sought me out. I want to go back to that time."

However, Hwang changed her mind after thinking about her two sons. Hwang said, "If I could not meet Wang-sik and Kang-sik, I would simply go back and choose to meet my children," expressing her affection by adding, "They are so cute."
Hwang married Lee Young-don, a businessman and former professional golfer, in February 2016 and had two sons. She filed for divorce mediation in 2020 but reconciled the following year, only to reveal in February 2024 that she was once again in divorce proceedings. The divorce was finalized last May.
