Actress Bae Jong-ok (62) reflected on the period when she raised her daughter alone after her divorce and shared her feelings at that time.
On the 28th, a five-episode video featuring Bae Jong-ok was released on the YouTube channel 'Song Seung-hwan's Wonderful Life'.
In the video, Song Seung-hwan recalled the filming of the drama 'Men in the Bathhouse', which they appeared in together, saying, "We met almost every day for a year, yet I didn't realize you were going through a difficult divorce or that you were a single mother raising a child alone."
Bae Jong-ok said, "I never found it difficult because of my divorce. In fact, I felt more at ease after the divorce."
She continued, "Since my mother took care of almost all the childcare, I only had to focus on my work," and explained, "It wasn't that I deliberately hid my struggles; I simply didn't find it particularly difficult."
Song Seung-hwan asked, "Still, you must have married with the intention of spending your life together with someone you love. If you separated after just one and a half years, couldn't there have been pain?"
In response, Bae Jong-ok said, "There was pain. But that's just my personality. Once I decide something isn't right, I move on from it." She added, "It would be a lie to say there was no difficulty at all, but the feeling of relief was far greater."
Song Seung-hwan then asked, "Do you ever think about getting married one more time?" and followed up, "If someone appears who makes you feel like you want to spend your life with them until death, wouldn't you consider remarrying?"
Bae Jong-ok firmly stated, "I have no such thoughts." She added, "It seems I've already forgotten those feelings. While fate is unknown and meeting someone might be possible if they appear, I haven't even considered marriage up to that point."
Meanwhile, Bae Jong-ok married a pilot in 1993 and had a daughter, but divorced in December 1994, just one year and six months into the marriage.
