Actor Jang Dong-yoon (34) will marry his junior colleague actress Kim Seung-yoon (29), five years his junior, this October.
On the 25th, Jang Dong-yoon announced his marriage through his SNS (social media).
Jang Dong-yoon stated, "I will marry someone I have been with for a long time this October," and added, "We plan to hold a quiet wedding ceremony with both families present."
He said, "There were many thoughts and concerns leading up to my decision to get married. As we spent much time together, we came to understand each other's various sides, and as a result, we grew to understand and cherish one another even more."
He continued, "Now, we have decided to be each other's closest support and live happily and joyfully together."
He further added, "I wanted to share this news first with everyone who has always supported me from the side and accompanied me through every moment of my journey as an actor. Although you may be surprised by this sudden announcement, I would be grateful if you could watch over us with warm hearts."
Finally, Jang Dong-yoon promised, "I will strive to show good performances as an actor in the future and also live more maturely as an individual."
It is reported that Jang Dong-yoon and Kim Seung-yoon built a strong rapport as actors, quietly dated without others knowing, and ultimately promised to marry based on their deep trust.
Kim Seung-yoon appeared in the films "My Ear Becomes Yours" (2023) and "Nuruk" (2026), directed by Jang Dong-yoon, working together as both director and actor.
Previously, in several interviews, Jang Dong-yoon shared his views on marriage: "I always pray for a spouse and prefer someone similar to me. Although I am very ambitious about my career, I want to get married before turning 40."
Jang Dong-yoon's fiancée Kim Seung-yoon made her debut in 2019 through the KBS2 drama "Joseon Love Story: Nokdu." In this drama, Jang Dong-yoon delivered a convincing performance as Jeon Nok-du, a man disguised as a woman.
Kim Seung-yoon has gained recognition for her acting skills primarily through independent and art-house short films rather than commercial movies, including director Hong Sang-soo's "In the Water" (2023), "Our Day" (2023), "The Traveler's Necessity" (2024), and the film "Labyrinth" (2025).
Last year, she also appeared as Han Bom, the daughter of singer-actor Ahn Jae-wook, in the KBS2 drama "Eagle Brothers."
Jang Dong-yoon graduated from Hanyang University's Department of Economics and Finance. In 2015, he became a topic of discussion after appearing on "SBS News" for catching a robber at a convenience store in Gwanak-gu, Seoul, earning the title of "handsome university student who caught a thief" even before his debut. He officially debuted as an actor in 2016 through the web drama "Female Employees at a Game Company."
Subsequently, he appeared in dramas such as "School 2017," "To You Who Forgot Poetry," "Ddamba Girls," "Joseon Love Story: Nokdu," "Oasis," "Morning Comes Even in the Psychiatric Ward," "Flowers Bloom Even in Sand," and "Mantis: The Killer's Outing."
