Actress Han So-hei acknowledged feeling burdened by reinterpreting the Hollywood film 'Intern' into a Korean version but stated, "We expressed it through our own sensibilities," showing confidence in her approach.
A press distribution screening and press conference for the film 'Intern' were held on the 4th at Seoul Yongsan-gu CGV Yongsan i-Park Mall. Director Kim Do-young and actors Choi Min-sik, Han So-hei, Kim Jun-han, and Ryu Hye-young attended the event.
'Intern' tells the story of Ki Ho (played by Choi Min-sik), a silver intern with 37 years of experience, joining the company of Sunwoo (played by Han So-hei), the CEO of 'Wututu,' which rose to become a fashion industry powerhouse within three years of its founding.
The role played by Han So-hei as Sunwoo was originally portrayed by Anne Hathaway in the original film.
Han So-hei said, "It would be a lie to say we completely disregarded the original," adding, "Since the original was so well-made, I carried a heavy burden from the very beginning."
She continued, "However, all those worries disappeared during filming. We expressed the character in our own way, through our sensibilities. We did not approach filming by comparing it to the original."
Choi Min-sik also praised the original as "excellent" but stated, "We came together with the intention of expressing it in our own unique way. We gave our best effort."
Meanwhile, 'Intern' is scheduled for release on the 16th.
