Jeon Bo-ram (40), formerly of the group T-ARA, announced that she gave her mother 100 million won as an allowance one year after her debut.
On the episode of JTBC's 'Salon House' broadcast on the 19th, Lee Mi-young and Jeon Bo-ram appeared as a mother-daughter duo.
Lee Mi-young married singer Jeon Young-rok in 1985 and had two daughters but divorced in 1997.
Lee Mi-young recalled, "I was supposed to live well until the end, but we ended up divorcing. I didn't have the confidence to raise them alone, and there was only 2 million won in my bank account at the time. I sent both daughters to their father, and I felt guilty for having no choice but to do so. I lived through tears."
Jeon Bo-ram said she was 11 years old at the time: "I wanted to go with Mom, but when I was told that wasn't possible, I was confused. Then Mom took out 40,000 won from her wallet and gave it to me. Seeing that amount made everything suddenly clear."
Lee Mi-young said she felt like collapsing after learning too late that her daughters had wanted to live with their mother. She conveyed her regret: "Why did I make them go through such pain and hurt them? If they had grown up in a complete family, how precious they would have been."
Afterward, the mother and daughter lived together again after eight years apart. Jeon Bo-ram said, "I heard many people ask why I became so cheerful. It was nice because I could eat many of the dishes Mom cooks."
Jeon Bo-ram gave her mother 100 million won as an allowance since her debut. Lee Mi-young said, "One year after my debut, she gave me 100 million won to spend only for Mom. It was 100 million won I had never even touched," surprising everyone.
She then added proudly, "My second daughter, who is a composer, said she couldn't keep up with her and gave me 5 million won. She told me, 'This is a large sum from my perspective. Please use it as an allowance.'"
