As the government pushes to legislate a "no-fault compensation liability" system for financial institutions regarding voice phishing damages, Aton's real-time detection service is expanding its supply base.
Aton announced on the 18th that it has signed a contract with KB Kookmin Bank to supply 'DefendUs', an AI-based real-time voice and smishing prevention solution. DefendUs was applied to the mobile banking app 'KB Star Banking' starting today.
The strength of DefendUs lies in its world-first dual detection system that covers not only SMS but also SNS (social networking services). The dual detection system consists of Safe Message and Safe Browsing. It detects malicious internet addresses (URLs) included in various messenger channels such as KakaoTalk, Instagram, Telegram, and WhatsApp at the reception stage in real time, and performs a second detection when accessing malicious URLs via a browser.
DefendUs calculates malicious URLs by combining reputation data collected by Aton with databases from KISA (Korea Internet & Security Agency), Google, and global security companies. It applies AI- and machine learning-based pattern analysis and proprietary patent technology to detect even the latest phishing techniques in real time. By extracting only core keywords within messages without providing personal information, it simultaneously ensures user privacy protection and security.
DefendUs is a B2B (business-to-business) service based on an SaaS (software as a service) platform using an in-app SDK method that is embedded directly within the app without separate installation. It supports both iOS and Android. Configured as a separate menu within the KB Star Banking app, it performs detection and notifications without affecting existing services.
Previously, Aton supplied 'DefendPlus' to NH Nonghyup Central Bank's NH Cocobank and voice phishing and smishing prevention services based on DefendUs, such as 'Mobile Phone Safety', to LG Uplus PASS.
