The Korea Information and Communications Industry Promotion Agency (NIPA, hereinafter the Agency) announced on the 19th that the startup 'Omelet' secured first place in the 'Extreme Tech Challenge Korea 2026' competition.
This competition was held online on the 12th alongside Extreme Tech Challenge Korea (XTC) and the Global Digital Innovation Network. The event was organized to support the overseas expansion of top domestic AI startups and attract investment.
A total of eight promising startups (CrossHub, iCubeLab, SpaceMap, LilyCover, Omelet, CodePresso, StudioLab, JejeDoo) participated in this competition, presenting their innovative technologies and global scalability before an international panel of judges. Among them, Omelet took first place by solving complex corporate operational decision-making problems using its optimized AI technology.
Omelet provides an AI service that identifies optimal solutions for complex corporate operational decisions such as vehicle routing, ship loading, inventory allocation, and nurse scheduling, based on optimized AI technology researched for over 10 years at the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST).
With this victory, Omelet received the 'Excellence in Applied AI Award' and is scheduled to be invited to 'XTC AI:360', the main XTC event taking place on November 19 in the United States, where it will showcase its technology on a global stage. Through this, the company expects to secure cooperation opportunities with global corporations such as Samsung and IBM, as well as attract investment.
Kim Hyo-geun, Head of the Global Division at NIPA, stated, "Through our first collaboration with Extreme Tech Challenge (XTC) and the Global Digital Innovation Network, we have impressed the world with the technological capabilities and international commercialization potential of domestic startups." He added, "The Korea Information and Communications Industry Promotion Agency will continue to strengthen relationships with international institutional investors and provide diverse support to ensure that promising domestic startups can advance unreservedly onto the global stage."
