
Commemorative stamps marking the 150th anniversary of Baekbeom Kim Gu, who led the Provisional Government of the Republic of Korea, are being issued.
Korea Post announced on the 20th that it will issue 528,000 copies of the "Baekbeom Kim Gu 150th Anniversary Commemorative Stamp" on the 28th.
The commemorative stamp features a portrait of Baekbeom taken in Chongqing, China, in 1942. It includes the inscription "Baekbeom Ilji" on a silver background.
The commemorative postmark bears the quote from Baekbeom Ilji's "My Wish": "I wish for my country to become the most beautiful nation in the world."
Ubon added, "2026 is a significant year when the international community has recognized that Mr. Kim Gu's philosophy of 'peace through culture' aligns with UNESCO's values of promoting peace and cultural diversity, and the government has designated it as the 'UNESCO Commemorative Year.'"
Park In-hwan (Head)_ said, "It will serve as an opportunity to honor the spirit of Mr. Kim Gu, who sought to achieve world peace through the power of culture."
The commemorative stamps can be purchased at nearby general post offices or via the Internet Post Office.
