The National Intelligence Service announced on the 26th that it will co-host the global cybersecurity event "Cyber Summit Korea (CSK) 2026" with the National Security Technology Research Institute from the 16th to 18 at Seoul COEX.
CSK was launched in 2024 with the aim of enabling the international community to jointly respond to cyber threats and is now entering its third year. This year's event will be held under the theme "Connected World, Shared Security."
The event will feature an International Information Exchange Conference, a conference, international cyber training, a cyber attack-defense competition, graduate student paper presentations, and a youth white-hacker academy. Exhibition and promotional booths, as well as a National Intelligence Service recruitment briefing, will also be operated.
At the opening ceremony on the 17th, Lee Jong-seok, Director of the National Intelligence Service, will deliver the opening remarks, while Hector Casas, Argentina's Federal Intelligence Director, and other foreign intelligence institutional investors will give keynote speeches. During the conference held on the 17th and 18th, domestic and international experts will present lectures and engage in discussions on topics including "Security and Trust in New Technologies," "International Strategy and Cooperation," and "Cybersecurity Policy and Trends."
Twenty-four countries will participate in the international cyber training program "APEX." This year, an "AI Defense Team" formed jointly by the public sector, private sector, and military under the leadership of the National Intelligence Service will also take part to assess their capabilities in responding to real-time cyber attacks.
Fifty teams that passed preliminary rounds in the domestic public, general, and youth categories will compete in the finals of the cyber attack-defense competition held on the 17th. Among them, ten outstanding teams will be selected and awarded on the 18th.
Lee Jong-seok, Director of the National Intelligence Service, stated, "With the emergence of high-performance AI, autonomous AI hacking has already become a realistic threat," and added, "I hope CSK 2026 becomes a platform for exchange that protects citizens' daily lives and drives corporate innovation amidst rapidly changing cyber environments."
Registration can be completed through the official CSK website, and participation is free for everyone.
