Kim Byeong-gi, PD of ian Games developing Smilegate's 'Dead Account: Two Blue Flames', stated, "I wanted to create a game where players can form various combinations within the game, much like growing characters over the long term." He added, "While developing the game with this concept in mind, I learned about the Dead Account IP and felt its direction aligned with my vision, so I decided to adopt the IP."
During a joint interview held at the TGS 2026 venue, PD Kim explained, "Even for those unfamiliar with the original work, many people enjoy roguelike genres. To ensure the game appeals fully to them, we paid close attention to strategy and deck combinations during development." He further noted, "We put significant effort into character design so that gamers can challenge themselves using various strategies."
Dead Account: Two Blue Flames is a roguelike RPG (role-playing game) based on the popular comic 'Dead Account' IP. It aims for high-quality visuals capable of absorbing the original work's fandom, featuring strategic depth in deck combinations and builds, as well as the exhilarating sensation of powerful skill effects.
The game's core revolves around collecting and growing various spirit mediums. Players can gather attractive original characters through gacha, with each character appearing differently depending on their rank. Additionally, characters gain powerful team buffs based on their attributes, classes, and character combinations.

The core content is the main scenario based on the original work. Depending on which enhancement cards players choose, even the same characters can experience entirely different battles. Players can also utilize leader skills and character buff synergies to construct diverse deck combinations, implementing strategic deck building through various role groups and skill combinations.
PD Kim explained, "From the very beginning of development preparation, we collaborated through meetings with the original creator." He continued, "Through review processes, content not present in the original was naturally added, and our portrayal of behind-the-scenes stories for the original protagonists received positive feedback. For parts in the comic that ended in just one or two panels, we requested permission from the original creator to adapt them into game skills where appropriate, and they were receptive."
Smilegate established a demo zone for Dead Account: Two Blue Flames at TGS 2026. Gamers can experience the thrill of the game and its overwhelming, intense atmosphere within a booth space decorated with the 'Blue Flames' concept tied to the game title and a large gate shaped like comic books. At the booth entrance, various images were displayed on a large LED screen in the shape of a smartphone, showcasing cutscenes from the game and gameplay footage, allowing visitors to instantly grasp the IP's appeal.
PD Kim stated, "While the original work has many fans even in Japan, as it is a roguelike genre, I believe it will also gain a considerable fanbase globally." He added, "I expect players to experience joint battles seen in the original and acts of sacrifice for comrades by combining their favorite characters within the game. We aim to make it accessible on mobile devices so that even while watching shorts or reels, players can easily enjoy the game."
