Singer Song Ga-in expressed her trust in her mother, who was possessed by a spirit.
On the 25th episode of MBC's variety program 'Songs That Survived Today - Playlist 109', former KIA Tigers pitcher Yoon Seok-min and singer Song Ga-in appeared.
That day, Song Ga-in revealed that she began performing traditional Korean music from a young age due to the influence of her mother, Song Soon-dan, a master (National Intangible Cultural Heritage Jindo Ssireum-gut Transmission Educator).
Lee Seok-hoon asked, "Didn't your mother oppose you switching from traditional Korean music to trot?"
In response, Song Ga-in said, "On the contrary, my mother recommended it. When 'National Singing Contest' came to Jindo, she encouraged me to participate first. After winning first place there, I began my path as a trot singer."
Song Ga-in also confessed that her mother encouraged her to participate even when she was first approached for the TV Chosun competition program 'Miss Trot'.
She said, "After receiving the call for participation, I hesitated. I worried about being embarrassed if I lost, since both ordinary people and active singers would be there. But when I asked my mom, she immediately said, 'Go. If you go, you'll hit the jackpot.'"
Song Ga-in stated, "My mother is a shaman who was possessed by a spirit," adding, "It seems she foresaw that I would hit the jackpot."
When DinDin asked if she had ever received help through her mother's insight, Song Ga-in replied, "Whenever something happens, I consult with my mom."
She said, "I always heed my mother's warnings," shocking everyone by adding, "There was even a time when I didn't listen and almost died."
Continuing, she recounted, "When I was unknown, my mom told me not to go swimming or near the water. But because it was summer, I went near the water anyway and truly almost died. The 119 rescue team came and pulled me out of the water." She then added, "I trust my mother 100%."
