Comedian Cho Hye-ryeon shared her experience of making additional purchases of SK Hynix shares at a peak.
On Tuesday, a video titled "Tried to get comforted but ended up receiving unsolicited advice?! Two people who become more desperate the more they talk" was released on the YouTube channel 'Money in the Trap.' The video featured Cho and Seo Dong-ju discussing their stock investment experiences.
Cho said that she had purchased SK Hynix shares at 870,000 won, saying, "I kept buying along the way. I bought at a low point and as it went up, I bought at the higher price, but then the share price fell and met my purchase price." She explained the situation where she made additional purchases after the share price rose, only for it to decline, reducing the gap between her average purchase price and the current market price.
She recalled the moment, saying, "It wasn't a good averaging down; it became a frustrating averaging down." She added, "When it was going up to 2.5 million won, 2.6 million won, and 2.7 million won, people around me said it would go all the way to 4 million won. My heart was pounding so hard." However, SK Hynix shares were trading at approximately 1.22 million won per share on Thursday.
Cho showed a cautious attitude toward additional purchases. She said, "I don't want to get in now," adding, "The current atmosphere is not one for entering; it's an atmosphere of holding on."
She also warned against investing using loans. Emphasizing that it is "really dangerous," Cho expressed the view that stock investments should be made with spare money.

As volatility in the stock market has recently increased, cases of celebrities voicing their investment losses have continued to emerge. YouTuber Kwak Tube revealed that his stock return rate had dropped to minus 38%.
Do Kyung-wan, a broadcaster formerly an announcer, also publicly shared his disappointment while checking his stock account. He expressed his frustration, saying, "I don't have any work these days, and now it's even the stocks."
