Actor Lee Gyu-han revealed that he has had a crush on singer Solbi, who is about to get married, for 20 years. Amid this revelation, his past public relationship with singer Nam Yu-jung is being re-examined.
On Thursday, a video titled "Introducing My Fiancé" was released on the YouTube channel 'Solbiezback'.
Lee, who appeared alongside Solbi, introduced himself as Solbi's fiancé. He stated that he volunteered to appear on the show because he wanted to greet viewers first through Solbi's YouTube channel after their marriage news became public.
Solbi recalled the time when the two of them appeared together on the dating reality show "Pursuit of Long-Awaited Love." Mentioning a mission where they had to hold hands in a car, she said, "The moment my older brother pulled his hand toward me and held it, my heart opened up greatly."
In response, Lee replied that it seemed like an unconscious action given the hectic situation of driving and filming.
Lee also said he had watched all the videos uploaded to Solbi's YouTube channel. He stated, "A subscriber like me just waits for uploads," and revealed that he remembered a video in which Solbi previously said she would get married within three years.
When asked what Lee was thinking at the time, he joked, "I wondered if I had to wait three years," adding, "I was waiting for you, Solbi, even then, and I've liked you since 20 years ago."
Although Lee appeared to express his affection for Solbi with a touch of humor, this remark has once again drawn attention to his past public relationship history.
Lee and Nam Yu-jung formed a connection by appearing together on the KBS2 variety show "Village-style, Haven't You Been Here Yet?" which aired in February 2023. When rumors of their romance first surfaced in July of that same year, they denied it, stating they were close senior and junior colleagues. However, when rumors resurfaced in September, they acknowledged that they were dating.
Nam later appeared on the MBC variety show "Radio Star" and revealed that she had not yet been dating Lee Gyu-han when the first romance rumors broke, but that their relationship developed into a romantic one after the rumors emerged.
Given that Lee had been in a public relationship with another celebrity until about two years ago, some netizens expressed bewilderment at his statement that he had liked and waited for Solbi since 20 years ago.
Solbi and Lee, who announced their marriage news on the 15th, are scheduled to hold a private wedding ceremony in April next year with family members from both sides, relatives, and close friends in attendance.
